Now it's time to promote.

​

But promotion today isn't like the mass media promotion romanticized by Mad Men. While there may still be a few Don Drapers out there with massive budgets trying to appeal to huge audiences, that isn't how most businesses operate. 

​

Truth is, our fragmented media universe means people are engaged on platforms you know and some you probably haven't even heard of yet. Their ability to opt in, follow, and otherwise indicate their preferences on everything from political leanings to shoe brands means they expect your message to be just as relevant to them when they see it. If it's not, you can forget about ever catching their eye again, much less engaging with them or even landing a sale.

Ways to promote your content can include, but aren't limited to:

  • email

  • social media

  • media relations

  • paid advertising

  • influencer partnerships

  • word-of-mouth/referral programs

  • trade shows

​
